ABOUT THE ART
This piece was made for Canadian metalcore band, Souljourn and appears on the album cover of their debut album 'Cerulean Blue'.
The album deals with themes of mental illness, especially the peaks and valleys and cycles of life/death associated with severe psychological disturbance.
I wanted to channel a sense of morbid beauty and uneasy motion into the art for this album, playing with cool, decaying colours juxtaposed onto a lush, dense floral still life.
